Venezuela: 60% of food buyers involved in illegal exports, stockpiling

In Venezuelan states bordering Colombia, such as Zulia, there are three times more products than the population requires. Authorities estimate that 40% of what the so-called “bachaqueros”–those involved in illegal product exporting and stockpiling–are able to acquire, is snuck into Colombia or resold to Venezuelans at much higher prices. More than 60% of those who form long lines to buy goods at stores are involved in these activities. teleSUR.
